We chose El Salvador to launch our manifesto, as it is the world's first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. We invite everyone to read our manifesto, comment on it and support it.

Leadership
Our leadership team brings together decades of experience in technology, financial services and compliance.
JL joined Bitfinex as CEO in 2013. A technologist at heart, his focus has been on developing a strict compliance system & collaborating with banking, regulatory & law enforcement to pioneer innovation within the space.
Giancarlo is the serving CFO of Bitfinex. Giancarlo has, since 2012, been instrumental in the development of Bitfinex, establishing banking relationships, attracting key personnel & re-domiciling the exchange.
Claudia joined Bitfinex in 2015 and now serves as COO, overseeing the implementation of long-term, strategic business goals while ensuring effective procedures are in place. Claudia has deep expertise in blockchain and fintech along with a high-level understanding of research, development, and marketing.
Paolo joined Bitfinex early 2015 and now serves as CTO, developing & managing core parts of the Bitfinex backend. Paolo has been building valuable tools & infrastructure for financial innovation for the past 15 years.
Peter specialises in intelligence-led criminal and terrorist financing investigations, compliance and understanding the link between banking and virtual currency environments.
